VITA SOPRA LA CITTA, We are facing major demographic changes. Already today, about 50% of humanity lives in urban areas, and this number will increase to over 80% by 2050. Cities are under enormous pressure and new approachesto densification are needed. Our proposal is an alternative to the current „tabula rasa strategy“. We understand the city as an organism, that should continue to grow. With a plug-in concept of tinytowers on roofs, a new city crown is created. At the same time, the use of the roof activates a new urban level. A level without street noise and exhaust fumes, but with light and view. The potential of the roof needs to be rethought.

VIVERE VERTICALE, The stacking of the rooms allows for a variety of different places. The split levels bring the different uses into a relationship with each other. Despite the optimised arrangement, it creates a feeling of generosity. The habitable area of approx. 3m x 3m is divided in a cross, giving each room a two-sided corner relationship to the exterior. The construction is a lightweight wooden structure supported by four external steel pillars. The exoskeleton allows easy transport and assembly of the bridge. The bridge is the communication element to the neighbours and enables access to further terraces. Due to the exoskeleton, the bridge can be placed on different levels and can react to any specific situation. The centre of living is the fire.
